Former Spanish national team striker Raul insists he wants to stay at the Gelsenkirchen club, even though his contract will expire next summer.
The 33-year-old veteran represented Madrid's "Real" for eighteen years, but moved to Germany this season.
"Next year we won't be playing in the Champions League anymore, but I won't leave. Physically and psychologically I feel good, so I would like to keep playing for at least another year," said the Champions League's top scorer with 71 goals.
He added: "Before coming to Gelsenkirchen I had other offers, but I wanted exactly what I got here: to play regularly and fight for victories."
