"RB Leipzig" defender Dominik Kaiser will receive a solid bonus from the club in the near future.
Ralph Hasenhuttlo's team defeated Berlin's "Hertha" 4-1 over the weekend and secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League - a condition linked to the mentioned player's contract.
The 28-year-old footballer agreed to a payment of 300,000 euros if "RB Leipzig" qualifies for the strongest European tournament. It may seem nothing unusual, but the contract was signed when the team was playing in the fourth division of Germany.
"That's how it goes with long-term contracts. You have to consider every circumstance," Kaiser said.
"Of course, I really didn't believe that we would be playing against the strongest European teams next season."
"I'm not the guy who buys a lot of things. For now, I will save the money."
The "RB Leipzig" club was founded in 2009 and in seven seasons managed to climb the ranks four times to a higher level.
