On Friday, the first participant of the German Cup final was revealed. It was the "RB Leipzig" team, who defeated Bremen's "Werder" 2-1 after extra time in the semi-finals. The main match time ended goalless, so the teams had to play extra time. The additional half hour started more successfully for the "RB Leipzig" team - in the 93rd minute Hee-Chan Hwang scored. However, Leonardo Bittencourt equalized the score during the added time of the first extra half. It seemed like the teams would have to go to penalty shootout, but in the 121st minute Emil Forsberg extended the victory for the "RB Leipzig" team.
