The newly promoted club, currently in seventh place in the English championship, announced that they have signed a contract with defender Michael Duberry, who represented "Stoke."
The 31-year-old player has signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with the club, which includes a clause allowing the player to leave if any football club shows interest in him.
"Michael is a very experienced footballer, having played more than 150 matches in the English Premier League and having experience in European tournaments," said Reading's director of football affairs Nick Hammond.
"This season he has helped 'Stoke' team concede the fewest goals in the second division of English football, and in my opinion, this shows the capabilities of this player."
"I would like to welcome Michael to our team," said Reading's chairman John Madejski. "This season he is in great sporting form and can bring a lot to our team."
The solid defender started his career at London's "Chelsea" club, with which he won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. Later, Duberry spent five seasons at another Premier League club, "Leeds."
