On Sunday, three matches of the 1st round were played in the Spanish "La Liga" championship.

The country's vice-champion "Barcelona" started the season at home against Seville's "Real Betis". The Catalans had no difficulties in the first season match - they defeated the opponents 2-0.

In the 36th minute, after Gerardo Deulofeu's pass into his own goal, the ball was directed by the "Real Betis" defender, and just a few minutes later, Sergi Roberto scored after the same Spaniard's pass.

Throughout the rest of the time, "Barcelona" completely dominated the field and had more great opportunities to score, but the match ended with a score of 2-0.

In the earlier duel, Bilbao's "Athletic" and Madrid's "Getafe" drew with a score of 0-0.

In the last evening match, the defending champion Madrid "Real" club clashed with La Coruna's "Deportivo" away. The "Whites" started the championship with a convincing victory against the host team.

In the 20th minute, Gareth Bale put the visitors ahead, and after seven minutes, Casemiro extended the advantage after a great pass from Marcelo.

In the second half, Toni Kroos sealed the deal. In the 89th minute, "Deportivo" could have scored a consolation goal, but Florin Andone failed to convert a 11-meter penalty.

As if that wasn't enough, in the last minute of the match, Sergio Ramos received his second yellow card and will have to miss the next matches.
