On Sunday, five matches of the 16th round of the Spanish "Primera" league were played.
The first match took place at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium, where two Madrid teams - "Real" and "Rayo Vallecano" clashed. Despite gaining an advantage at the beginning of the match, the visitors soon received two red cards and suffered a defeat with a score of 10-2.
The match started fairly evenly - both teams attacked each other's goals, but in the 3rd minute, the first goal fell to the "Rayo" net when Danilo defeated the opponents' goalkeeper after a brilliant pass from Gareth Bale.
However, the visitors did not lose confidence after quickly conceding a goal and took advantage of the uncertain defense of the hosts. In the 10th minute, an equalizing goal was scored, and just two minutes later Jozabed scored another goal with his head. Unfortunately, a promising start to the match ended in a complete humiliation.
In the 14th minute, Tito was sent off the field for a rough challenge on Toni Kroos, and taking advantage of this, the "Real" players restored parity in the 25th minute after G. Bale's goal. In the 28th minute, the team coached by Paco Jemez again did not receive referees' favor - Raul Bueno received a questionable second yellow card in the visitors' penalty area and "Rayo" was left to play with nine players.
After this incident, Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty from 11 meters, and at the end of the first half, G. Bale sent the visitors to the canvas. In the second half, the domination of the opponents continued, and goals were scored one after another by C. Ronaldo, G. Bale, and K. Benzema.
The Welsh national team player scored four times and this was his first career "poker". After the victory, "Real" temporarily reduced the gap from the leaders to 2 points.
The leader, along with "Barcelona", Madrid's "Atletico" suffered a minimal defeat against "Malaga" in an away match. After the loss, "Rojiblancos" remain at the top, but "Barca" has played one match less.
Other matches ended with victories for "Villarreal", Bilbao "Athletic", and Vigo "Celta".
