Long-time Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas admits that his team is currently going through a very difficult period and has reached rock bottom.
"The Whites" unexpectedly lost 3-4 against "Schalke" in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League last night. Nevertheless, Real had a two-goal advantage and advanced to the quarterfinals with a 5-4 aggregate score.
Appearing pale against "Schalke", but saving the team from disaster at the end of the match, Casillas urges his teammates not to dwell on the past and prepare for the crucial battles ahead.
"It is true that we have fallen very low," - said the goalkeeper after the defeat. - "But the positive thing is that we are in the quarterfinals and are waiting for Friday to find out our opponents".
"It all started with the draw against Villarreal. We don't know what happened in those 10 days. We must only think about the future, we must forget that streak of 22 consecutive victories," - said Casillas.
Finally, the experienced goalkeeper admitted that he could have performed better in this match: "I think the goalkeeper is always to blame after conceding so many goals. It was not one of my best matches, but now is not the time to think about myself."
