On Monday evening, the last two matches of the first round of the Spanish "Primera" championship were played.
The first match took place at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium, where the local Madrid "Real" club defeated the league newcomers "Cordoba" with a score of 2-0.
"The Whites" took the lead in the 30th minute, when Karim Benzema, who has been in a goal-scoring drought recently, scored a goal with a header after a corner kick lifted by Toni Kroos.
Throughout the remaining time, "Real" pressed their opponents and had several excellent opportunities to score, but the second and final goals came at the very end of the match. Cristiano Ronaldo scored with a long-range shot.
At 23:00, the Spanish champions, the footballers of Madrid "Atletico", will face "Rayo Vallecano" on the road.
