"Real" could receive a new goalkeeper this January

"Marca" announces that Madrid's "Real" may already be adding a new goalkeeper in January. The "Whites" team has been closely monitoring the goalkeeper position for several years, but Keylor Navas is still the solid starting goalkeeper. However, the Costa Rican has been plagued by injuries lately, so "Real" may acquire a new goalkeeper approaching the transfer window. As reported by "Marca," "Real" is hopeful of signing Bilbao's "Athletic" goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is considered one of the most promising Spanish goalkeepers and already plays for the national team. Kepa himself is inclined to leave in January, as he does not have very warm relations with "Athletic". The latter offered the player a new contract to raise his release clause to 70 million euros, but the goalkeeper rejected the offer and now risks being left on the bench. Kepa is concerned because in that case, he may not travel to Russia with the Spanish national team. "Real" is willing to pay the current Spanish player's release clause amount - 20 million euros. Of course, "Real" could wait until summer for the goalkeeper to become a free agent, but the player himself is willing to move to Madrid now, and the club does not want to risk him changing his mind and signing a new contract with the Basques. The 23-year-old Spaniard arrived in Madrid in January to provide serious competition for K. Navas for a place on the field.
