On Wednesday evening, the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals arrived in Spain - Madrid saw "Real" face Stambul's "Galatasaray", while local team "Malaga" fought against Dortmund's "Borussia".
Turks couldn't resist the challenge seriously, bringing back home a dry three-goal deficit which even the most loyal fans of the team probably don't believe will be overturned.
The "Santiago Bernabeu" stands erupted in the 9th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo, the tournament's top scorer, scored after a splendid Mesut Ozil assist, defeating Nestor Muslera.
A third of an hour later, Karim Benzema doubled the score with a close-range shot, and at the end of the second half, Gonzalo Higuain, who came on as a substitute, finished off the opponent's humiliation.
Didier Drogba, Wesley Sneijder, and Burak Yilmaz responded with a few harmless shots from afar, with Emmanuel Eboue coming closest to scoring, but his attempt was blocked successfully by Diego Lopez who replaced Iker Casillas.
In the "Malaga" vs "Borussia" clash, there was no shortage of quick action or dangerous opportunities, but the final whistle declared a goalless draw, so everything will be decided in the return leg in Germany next Tuesday.
