Madrid's "Real" yesterday officially reported on their website that Gareth Bale suffered a calf injury.
After the injury, it was expected that G. Bale would be out of matches for about a month, but today it became clear that the Welsh national team star will need a special operation.
This means that Zinedine Zidane will have to do without Bale's services at least until the beginning of February.
G. Bale suffered the injury in a UEFA Champions League match against Lisbon's "Benfica". While sprinting with the ball, the forward collided unsuccessfully with an opponent and was soon substituted.
Real hopes that G. Bale will be fully ready for the Champions League quarterfinals, which begin in February.
