"Real" Hit Seven Coaches © EuroFootball.com

The President of Real Madrid, Fernando Martin, in an interview for the Spanish television "Antena 3" on Monday stated that he wants to appoint one of 7 famous coaches to the position of the royal club's coach and revealed their last names.

Currently, one of the most famous teams in the world is being temporarily coached by Juan Ramon Lopez Caro until the end of the season, but in the summer he should leave his place and hand over the duties to a more famous and experienced strategist.

"We are certain about the type of coach we need. You can understand the kind of coach we would want to invite - Mourinho, Capello, Benitez, Wenger, Ancelotti, Lippi and Eriksson," named the candidates the Real president. - "I cannot say more about it because I believe I have to be cautious. I can only add that for the next season, we will try to create the best possible team, and its main element is the coach."

Such statements by F. Martino immediately received a response - the clubs "Chelsea" and "Arsenal" both announced that coaches Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger promised to stay in their positions in London, a possibility that had previously been rejected by Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez and Juventus strategist Fabio Capello, while Carlo Ancelotti recently extended his contract with Milan.

Therefore, the most realistic candidates are Marcello Lippi, leading the Italian national team, and Sven-Goran Eriksson, the coach of the English national team, who will leave his position after the World Cup final tournament in the summer and has already received permission from the English FA to seek a new job.

The new coach of Real Madrid would become the seventh coach in the club in the past three years. In the summer of 2003, after the successful era of Vicente Del Bosque, the Madrid team was led by Carlos Queiroz, Jose Antonio Camacho, Mariano Garcia Remon and Wanderley Luxemburgo, but none of them managed to win trophies.

A similar fate seems to await the current coach, L. Caro - this season, Real Madrid was forced to withdraw from the Champions League after losing to Arsenal in the quarter-finals, was eliminated from the Copa del Rey by Zaragoza, and in the national championship, the capital club is 11 points behind the main rival, Barcelona, with whom they will meet next weekend."
