Mauricio Pochettino smiled strongly when he heard a question about Madrid's "Real" club and a possible return to Spain.
While discussions are brewing in the media about who Florentino Perez will choose for the coaching position - Zinedine Zidane or Jose Mourinho, Pochettino's name is still not ruled out.
It is clear that the Argentine will not take over the team this season, but it is no secret that "Real" has been interested in Pochettino's services for several years now, and the need for a new strategist this season is no longer a question.
"My connection with Spain will always remain strong," Pochettino told TVE television. "I would like to return here one day and play football again, which determines victories and which people love to watch. I am open to new opportunities and projects."
Asked if the club in Spain could be Madrid's "Real", Pochettino answered: "I don't think my president will like this interview. Still, this interest shows that we are doing a good job at Tottenham. This is a positive message about us."
Pochettino also added that he understands the situation in which Santiago Solari finds himself: "We were team mates and I really respect him. I know what is happening inside him."
It is worth reminding that before coming to England, Pochettino worked at Barcelona's "Espanyol" club.
