"Real" reaches record in the last seconds - King's Cup quarterfinals (VIDEO)

On Thursday evening in Spain, the last three return leg matches of the King's Cup quarter-finals were played.

Sevilla, in front of their own fans, tried to retaliate against Madrid's Real after losing at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. The Andalusian team tried to create a miracle and surged ahead with a score of 3-1, but the character of the 'white' champions helped them fight back, resulting in a draw that extended their unbeaten streak to 40 matches.

Sevilla lost the first leg in Madrid 0-3, but the Andalusian team had no intentions of bowing out of the tournament.

From the first minutes of the match, Sevilla pressed the 'Real' team that did not have their main lineup and in the 10th minute conceded the first goal - 'white' defender Danilo unfortunately scored an own goal.

The hosts' pressure continued, but 'Real' managed to avoid conceding a second goal in the first half. Toni Kroos had a good chance to equalize, but his shot went wide.

The second half started with a quick goal for 'Real', crushing Sevilla's hopes of advancing to the next round. Young 'Real' talent Marco Asensio launched a sprint from his corner and finished it with a goal between the opponent's goalkeeper's legs.

However, Sevilla soon managed to surge ahead again, with Steven Jovetić scoring a goal just a few days after joining the team. The hosts continued to press the visitors, and in the 77th minute, Iborra increased the lead to two goals.

Sevilla needed two more goals, so their chances were very slim, but 'Real' fans were hoping that the unbeaten record would continue.

Nevertheless, Zinedine Zidane's pupils showed the mentality of winners and in the 83rd minute brought suspense back to the match with Sergio Ramos scoring a 'panenka' style penalty from the 11-metre mark against the opponents' goalkeeper.

Just when it seemed that 'Real' would not be able to equalize, Karim Benzema demonstrated his highest class in the 93rd minute and leveled the score after a fantastic play, which not only meant advancing to the quarter-finals, but also a new Spanish football record.

'Real' reached a record of 40 unbeaten matches, leaving 'Barcelona' behind. Zidane's pupils are four unbeaten matches away from the record of all European leagues.

In today's matches, Celta Vigo and Eibar also secured their tickets to the quarter-finals. The draw for the quarter-finals will take place tomorrow at 1 PM Lithuanian time.
