On Sunday in Spain, the 31st round of the "Primera" championship continued, with four more matches played.
The most attention-grabbing match took place at 21:30 Lithuanian time. Real Sociedad from San Sebastian unexpectedly defeated Sevilla with a score of 1-2 in an away match.
The first goal of the match was scored in the 2nd minute, when after a precise pass from Asier Illarramendi, Markel Bergara found the net. In the 34th minute, the hosts' goalkeeper Grzegorz Krychowiak scored an own goal, giving the Basques a 0-2 lead.
In the second half, Sevilla dominated the field and in the 51st minute, Kevin Gameiro reduced the deficit from the penalty spot. Furthermore, in the 68th minute, the first goal scorer for Real Sociedad, M. Bergara, was sent off the field, but Sevilla did not take advantage of their numerical superiority.
In other matches, Bilbao's Athletic failed to maintain their lead until the end of the match and played a draw with Granada, while Villarreal won away after a tough battle against Eibar and is moving closer to a spot in the UEFA Champions League.
In another match, Barcelona's Espanyol played a draw with Malaga away. Giedrius Arlauskis, who declined a call-up to the Lithuanian national team, continues to be on the bench for the Catalan team.
