The "White" team fought for three points in the stadium where the away team only managed one victory this season - Barcelona. Starting the match well, Getafe was forced to acknowledge the advantage of Zinedine Zidane's team - 0:3.
Real Madrid had a very difficult start to the match - Getafe pressed the visitors from the very beginning and posed a great threat to Thibaut Courtois' goal.
For Belgium, it was necessary to withstand two almost hundred percent opportunities in the first half-hour. Real's players responded in the 34th minute with a very unexpected goal when, after a standard situation, goalkeeper David Soria embarrassingly sent the ball into his own net. Raphael Varane was also significantly involved in this goal due to his ballfighting.
In the second half, the "White" team already began to secure, however, Getafe also had their chances. Nevertheless, in the 53rd minute, the visitors were forced to pull the ball out of their own net once again when the same R. Varane scored with his head from a standard situation.
After this episode, the visitors were already in full control of the game from the neighboring Santiago Bernabeu stadium. At the very end of the match, Luka Modric also entered his name in the protocol, scoring during a fast counterattack.

Having played three consecutive draws before these matches, Real temporarily rose to the leader's position. Getafe falls to eighth place.

In the third match of the day, Atletico Madrid hosted Levante from Valencia. Diego Simeone's team proved their advantage in a tough duel with a 2-1 victory.
