On Thursday, the second semifinal match of the Spanish Super Cup took place, after which "Barcelona" found out their opponents in the final. Madrid's "Real" unexpectedly lost 1:2 to Bilbao's "Athletic" footballers and ended their fight for the trophy. "Athletic" took the lead in the 18th minute of the game, when Raul Garcia scored. The same Spaniard converted a penalty kick in the 38th minute. "Real" revived their hopes in the 73rd minute when Karim Benzema sent the ball into the goal. There was no shortage of drama at the end of the match. In practically the last moments of the game, the referee decided to review an episode for a possible penalty kick to "Athletic's" goal. However, the penalty was not given, and Bilbao club advanced to the final, where they will face "Barca" on Sunday.
