UEFA Appeals Committee has reduced the two-match suspension of Bayern Munich's team captain Mark van Bommel to one match.
This punishment was given to the Dutchman for a red card in the Champions League round of 16 match between Bayern and Real, as well as for an indecent gesture towards the fans after the first leg of the match in Madrid.
Bayern Munich club appealed this decision of the UEFA disciplinary committee, and the appeal was successful. So, M. van Bommel will only have to miss one quarter-final match against Milan.
The first leg of the Bayern vs. Milan clash will take place on April 3 in Milan, with the return leg on April 11 in Munich.
Additional punishment for the footballer - a fine of 6200 euros and working with young footballers to promote the "Fair play" program - remains.
