On June 1st, the UEFA Champions League final will take place in Madrid, where the teams of "Tottenham" and "Liverpool" will face each other.
On Tuesday, UEFA announced that the experienced referee Damir Skomina from Slovenia will officiate these matches.
The 42-year-old referee has accumulated a lot of experience in elite tournaments, and in 2017 he refereed the Europa League final, where the teams "Manchester United" and "Ajax" played.
This season, D. Skomina sparked a lot of discussion with the controversial penalty in the Champions League quarterfinal match between PSG and "Man Utd", and after that incident received some not-so-nice words from PSG's star Neymar.
An interesting fact is that the Slovenian has refereed "Liverpool" matches five times so far, and the "reds" have only managed to secure one victory in them.
