On Monday evening, the eighth round of the Premier League was played in England again.
Without the head coach, Leicester City hosted Liverpool at home. After suffering five consecutive defeats, the "Foxes" managed to defeat the "Reds" with a score of 3-1 and return to the path of victory.
Having relieved Claudio Ranieri of his duties as head coach, Leicester appeared for the first time without an Italian specialist, and the team's players gave their fans a great evening.
In the 28th minute, the first goal of the match was scored when Jamie Vardy, left unmarked after a great pass from Marc Albrighton, beat Simon Mignolet with a precise shot and put the hosts in the lead.
As if that wasn't enough, in the 39th minute, Leicester's squad gained a two-goal advantage - an impressive goal with his left foot was scored by Daniel Drinkwater from about 25 meters.
In the second half, the "Foxes" continued to demonstrate aggressive play, and in the 60th minute, the score became overwhelming. After a wonderful pass from Christian Fuchs, J. Vardy scored with a header and stood out with a double in the match.
In the 68th minute, Philippe Coutinho managed to score a goal for Liverpool, but the "Reds" were not able to score more goals, and the hosts celebrated victory with a 3-1 result.
After the victory, Leicester climbed to 15th place, but they are only two points away from the relegation zone. Liverpool remains in fifth place with 49 points and could potentially drop to sixth place.
