Dutch football legend and FIFA director Marco van Basten caused a real storm on Wednesday when he announced his ideas to improve football rules.
This was sharply reacted to by "Rennes" team coach Christian Gourcuff, who in just three days criticized the celebrity's efforts to "make the game more attractive."
"You haven't read such nonsense for a long time. I'm still trying to clarify if I understood the text correctly... It's immeasurable nonsense," said the specialist.
"Let's go back to the times when village played against village and players were being beaten.
Nowadays, there is a description of collective intelligence. Its elimination would mean the removal of the collective spirit provided by these rules.
It is unique - if you don't understand it, it means you don't understand football," Gourcuff insisted.
