In the mountain park, a modernized Lithuanian police stadium was officially opened a few days ago.

Guests speaking at the opening were pleased that the police and residents of Vilnius will have a great stadium where not only statutory officers can participate in sports, but it will also be open to the public.

Symbolically, one of the first to use the stadium will be children from sports clubs, which will help carry out preventive work in reducing crime and offenses among children and young people.

“I am convinced that this stadium will satisfy not only the needs of the Lithuanian police, but also the needs of football clubs and academies to train and play matches.”
I want to thank the Lithuanian police, the Chief Commissioner of the Lithuanian Police, for giving new life to this stadium and it will once again fulfill its duty and welcome the football community and contribute to the growth and development of Lithuanian football.
I really hope that the development of football infrastructure in the capital will not stop and we will open another stadium that meets the needs of the community”, said Edgaras Stankevičius, president of LFF, who spoke at the opening ceremony.

Police Commissioner General Renatas Požėla was pleased that the dream of having a new and modern stadium had come true.

“I thank everyone who believed in this idea, put in a lot of work and effort to have this result today. I wish that the stadium will always be lively, that it will be a place not only for officers, but also for residents and their children”, he said.

The first match at the renovated stadium was played by the Lithuanian police team and FK “Prelegentai”.
