"Barcelona" club representative and one of the board members Javier Bordas claims that in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals they have been drawn against the most unfavorable opponent out of all possible ones.
Today in Nyon, the most powerful teams from the Old Continent's tournament quarterfinals were drawn. After the draw, it was revealed that the defending champions from Catalonia will face Madrid's "Atletico" team, which in the 2013-14 season exactly eliminated "Barça" in this stage.
"Barcelona" could have been matched against clubs like Munich's "Bayern", Madrid's "Real" or PSG, but J. Bordas believes that "Atletico" is the most difficult opponent to beat.
"I don't think there were tougher opponents than "Atletico", - said J. Bordas. - This team defends better than anyone else. Of course, at this stage you don't expect to face weaker opponents anymore, but it will be especially tough against "Atletico".
"When you play against "Atletico", everything is harder. We all know about their defensive capabilities, but we are prepared to beat them and reach the semifinals", - concluded the "Barcelona" club representative at the Champions League draw ceremony.
The first match between the two teams at the "Camp Nou" stadium will take place on April 5, with the second leg being played at the "Vicente Calderon" fortress on April 13.
