Lithuanian "A lyga" clubs are intensively preparing for the new season and trying to play as many friendly matches as possible. The official championship website alyga.lt looked at the team's results in friendly matches.

Lithuanian champion Panevezys "Ekranas" played six matches during the off-season. The team visited Latvia four times, returning without any wins - three losses and one draw. "Ekranas" lost 0-5 to Riga's "Skonto", 0-3 to Liepaja's "Metalurgs", 0-1 to Daugavpils' "Dinaburg", and finished in a 1-1 draw against Ventspils' "Ventspils".

In Lithuania, Virginijus Liubšys' students tested their strength against Siauliai's "Siauliai" and Alytus' "Alytis". "Ekranas" defeated "Siauliai" 3-2, and played to a 2-2 draw against "Alytis".

The country's vice-champion Kaunas FBK "Kaunas" not only played friendly matches, but also participated in the "Commonwealth Cup" tournament in Moscow. In this tournament, "Kaunas" defeated Yerevan's "Pyunik" 3-0, forced Tiraspol's "Sheriff" to surrender 5-3 in a penalty shootout, tied 5-4 with Moscow's CSKA, drew 1-1 with Soligorsk's "Shakhtyor", lost 0-1 to the Russian youth team, and 2-4 to Baku's "Neftchi".

During friendly matches, "Kaunas" defeated Klaipeda's "Atlantas" (2-1), Marijampole's "Suduva" (3-0), "Kunovice" (1-0), played to a draw with "Suduva" (2-2) and Soligorsk's "Shakhtyor" (0-0).

Marijampole's "Suduva" defeated Silute's "Silute" (3-2), "Alytis" (3-0), Vilnius' "Zalgiris" (1-0), Minsk region's "Darida" (2-0), drew 2-2 with "Kaunas", lost 0-3 to "Kaunas" and 2-3 to "Atlantas".

Vilnius' "Vetra" played to a 2-2 draw against Borisov's "BATE" and "Darida", and lost 1-3 to "Pandurii Lignitul".

Vilnius' "Vilnius", the team that started preparing for the season earliest of all, took to the field eight times. Kestutis Latoza's students achieved five victories, played to a draw once, and admitted defeat twice.

"Vilnius" defeated "Alytis" (3-0), Kedainiai's "Nevezis" (4-0), "Siauliai" (1-0), Riga's "Riga" (2-1), "Darida" (1-0), played to a draw of 0-0 with "Darida", and lost 1-2 to "Skonto" and Minsk's "Dinamo".

Silute's "Silute" lost to "Zalgiris" (1-3), "Siauliai" (0-1), "Suduva" (2-3), and "Atlantas" (1-4).

Klaipeda's "Atlantas" defeated "Suduva" (3-2), "Silute" (4-1), and lost to "Kaunas" (1-2), "Darida" (1-2), and "Ventspils" (1-3).

Vilnius' "Zalgiris" defeated "Silute" (3-1), Bucharest's "National" (2-1), admitted the superiority of Borisov's "BATE" (0-2), and "Suduva" (0-1).

Siauliai's "Siauliai" celebrated victory against "Silute" (1-0), played to a draw with "Ventspils" (1-1) and "Nevezis" (2-2), lost to "Vilnius" (0-1) and "Ekranas" (2-3).

Kedainiai's "Nevezis" only played three matches. The team lost 0-4 to "Vilnius", drew 2-2 with "Siauliai" and beat the Lithuanian youth team (up to 17 years old) 2-0.
