Three "Ligue 1" matches were played last night.
Earlier in the evening, "Saint-Etienne" defeated "Bastia" 2-1 at home, even with two red cards earned by the visitors. Meanwhile, "Bordeaux" at home managed to beat "Nantes" after a tough battle.
However, the most attention was drawn to the evening match, where last season's third-placed team "Monaco" hosted the defending champions "Paris Saint-Germain". Mentor's Laurent Blanc's team finally saw the debut of attacking midfielder Angel Di Maria, who arrived from "Manchester United", and team star Zlatan Ibrahimovic played his first match in the French championship.
The Parisians dominated from the very first minutes, and the hosts failed to create enough chances. This is also reflected in the statistics - only two shots towards goal, zero on target. However, PSG couldn't break through Monaco's defense before half-time.
Nevertheless, Leonardo Jardim's players didn't resist for long - Edinson Cavani scored in the 57th minute. The visitors only increased their lead after the final whistle, with the same Uruguayan and Ezequiel Lavezzi as the scorers of two more goals. The duo of Ibrahimovic and Di Maria stood out with assists.
In "Ligue 1" standings, PSG continues to march firmly undefeated, leading by three points over second-placed "Reims".
