On Tuesday evening Jordan Pickford became a hero of the England national team by shining in the penalty shootout, and a couple of days later it was revealed how he managed to do it.
Mirror reports that before the penalty shootout, England's assistant coach Martyn Margetson handed him a special water bottle. On it were written details about where and how the players of the Colombian national team like to shoot.
J. Pickford put the water bottle next to him, so before every shot he could refresh his knowledge about the opponent's shooting. As the goalkeeper himself admitted, these homework assignments helped - only Radamel Falcao surprised the goalkeeper, while all other players shot exactly where the information provided by the Englishman suggested.
