"Palermo" coach F.Guidolin resigns

After finishing sixth in the Serie A championship in the first season after returning to his team, coach Francesco Guidolin confirmed at the end of the season that he was stepping down from the team.

Despite the good results of the previous season, the coach was criticized several times by the club president Maurizio Zamparini for allegedly unattractive play, who eventually decided to part ways with the strategist. In addition, according to the club, the coach has personal problems that he cannot solve while in Sicily.

"I had a calm conversation with the president and we agreed on certain things. I said that it's probably time for me to take a break," Guidolin said. "Despite everything, I probably couldn't have done better than what I managed to achieve here. I feel like I won't meet such great fans anywhere else."

"Palermo" has already started looking for a new coach - candidates for the vacant position include A.Zaccheroni, Z.Zeman. The club president recently stated that negotiations were held with L.Del Neri, but no agreement was reached.

"Atalanta" coach resigns to a lower level

The head coach of the team that finished last in Serie A and was relegated to a lower level, Dellio Rossi, also left his position.

Rossi joined the team when 15 matches had already been played in the championship, in which "Atalanta" only earned 7 points, and although the new year brought some success to the team and they played quite well, it was not enough to stay in the league.

"I am sorry that I couldn't save the team from relegation. The team deserved to stay in Serie A. I thank the club for this opportunity," said D.Rossi. "When I took this position, I didn't feel like I was a problem solver. We needed time for everything, and I can't work miracles in six months, although two weeks ago I still believed that the team could survive."

P.Nedved undecided about the future

Turin's midfielder Pavel Nedved says he does not yet know if he will continue his career after his contract with the club ends in 2006.

The former Czech national team player had previously said he would retire when his contract ends, but despite missing a considerable part of the season due to injuries, the footballer now claims that he could still continue playing.

"I will play next season, but it is too early to talk about extending my contract. We will see what my physical condition is like, although my goal is to do everything to play as well as possible," Nedved said.

Nedved, who will turn 33 in August, won the Italian champions title for the fourth time in his career this season, but the midfielder would like a different title.

"I am happy because this season we managed to finish with smiles on our faces. Not many people believed we could win, but we did," Nedved said. "Nevertheless, I really want to win the Champions League and I will try to win this trophy next year. The Europa League is a dream, and for me, it's like a mania because this title has always eluded me."
