News from Italy in brief:

M.Delvecchio has signed a contract with "Parma"

Last season's struggling team in the Italian "Serie A", recently acquired by former "Real" president Lorenzo Sanzas, continues the restructuring of the squad by adding experienced 32-year-old striker Delvecchio.

Former "Inter" and "Roma" player Delvecchio, who gained fame representing the Italian national team with his goal against France in the 2000 European Championship final, participated in trials with "Parma" a week after his contract with "Brescia" ended and has now signed a contract with the club, forming a duo in the attack with fellow newcomer Bernardo Corradi.

M.Meghni loaned to "Sochaux"

French youth national team defender Mourad Meghni is returning to his homeland to join the team. The French club loaned the player, with the option to buy him back after a year, to the Italians, who were relegated to the second division of "Serie B" last season.

The 21-year-old midfielder, dubbed the "Little Zidane", returned to France after a five-year break. At the age of 16, he signed a professional contract with "Cannes", but after the club went bankrupt shortly, Meghni moved to "Bologna".

In his first two seasons in Italy, the player spent time in the club's reserve team, later suffered a serious knee injury, but managed to recover and scored 5 goals in 37 matches in the 2004/05 season, becoming one of the league's discoveries.

L.Marchegiani ends his career

The veteran goalkeeper, who left the team this summer, did not find a new club and decided to end his professional football career that lasted over 20 years.

The 39-year-old Marchegiani began his career at the "Jesi" team, played for "Brescia" for a couple of seasons, represented "Torino" for five years, helping them win the Italian Cup, and in 1993 moved to Rome's "Lazio", where he spent ten years and won numerous titles, including the UEFA Cup in 1999 and the Italian championship in 2000.

Marchegiani, who represented the Italian national team nine times in his last two seasons, played for Verona's "Chievo". This summer, his contract with the club ended, and after unsuccessful negotiations with "Roma", he decided to retire from playing but still remain in football - the Italian is preparing for a job as a goalkeeper coach.

I.Bakayoko moves to "Livorno"

The "Serie A" mid-table team, to which Lithuanian Tomas Danilevičius loaned from "Avellino", acquired striker Ibrahim Bakayoko from the French second division team that was relegated.

The 28-year-old Ivory Coast national team player will replace veteran Igor Protti, who ended his career this year. Bakayoko has previously played for "Marseille", "Montpellier" and "Osasuna".
