Review of Round 15 of the Women's A League: All teams celebrated with goals

Last weekend, three matches of the 15th round of the Lithuanian Women's Football A League were played, during which players from all teams could celebrate scoring at least once. Vilnius MFA „Žalgiris“- MRU footballers, who scored 11 goals, returned to the top of the tournament table, and the gap in the fight for third place was reduced to 3 points.

M. L. Darden transfer. Mia Leneice Darden, the leader of the first part of the season FK „Vilnius“ team, moved to another capital team during the transfer window, and clearly did not move for a statistical role. In her debut match, Mia scored a „poker“ and now, with 13 accurate strikes, is close to the league's top scorer Juliet Sunday.

The match with „Utenos Utenis“ was not only an easy walk for M. L. Darden, but also for the entire MFA team, which was started by Maya Musaskaya with a spectacular strike from 25 meters. The Žalgiris players scored as many goals as they wanted and as they wished. So, by halftime, a 5-goal advantage was built up.

„Utenos Utenis“' sadness was reduced by a beautiful goal from Karolina Jasaitytė. Seeing the goal left by Meda Šeškutė, a former Žalgiris player managed to score from 35 meters and reduce the deficit of four goals at that time.

The only draw. The Gargždai „Banga“ players, who play a very intense season, neither won nor lost for the first time. The encounter with „Vilnius“ ended in a 1:1 draw.

Exchanging very dangerous attacks in the first 12 minutes, both teams ended up in the middle of the field for some time, and we had to wait for the first goal for a bit over half an hour. It was then that Valeria Postol scored after Irina Topal's breakthrough on the left flank and a pass into the goal area. However, it should be noted that at that time, the 'tigers' were playing with a numerical disadvantage due to two yellow cards received by Kamile Pranulyte.

5 minutes after the goal by „Vilnius“, misfortune struck this team. I. Topal tried to clear the ball to goalkeeper Aušra Klevečkaitė, but the latter managed not to hit it, and the result became 1:1.

With one player advantage on the field, the Vilnius team completely dominated the middle of the field, and some episodes almost turned into goals. For example, when the strength of the goal construction was tested after shots from Alexandra Grace Kitty Madden or I. Topal.

The home team played counter-attacks, and they were very dangerous. Estela Tamošauskaitė escaped one-on-one against A. Klevečkaitė, Viltė Švarvaitė did the same, but in both cases, the goalkeeper triumphed.

Victorious coach debut. After an unsuccessful performance in the first half of the season, Kaunas Hegelmann from the Kaunas region decided to change the coach, who became the specialist from England, Judenas Ali. The latter's debut was marked by a victory against Joniškis „Saned“ and by narrowing the gap to 3 points behind the third-placed „Vilnius“.

After the break in July, the decrease in the number of legionaries in „Saned“ clearly weakened the team. However, the Kaunas women put up a strong fight. So strong that they were in the lead even at the end of the first half.

However, the second half of the first half belonged to the „Hegelmann“ players, who secured a victory and additional 3 points on the tournament table after goals from Rusnė Makarevičiūtė, Simona Petravičienė, and Klaudija Savickaitė.
