Former "Manchester United" center-back Rio Ferdinand has found a new club. London's "Queens Park Rangers", returning to the English "Premier" league, signed a one-year contract with the English team.
The 35-year-old veteran bid farewell to the "Red Devils" this summer after spending 12 years with the team. QPR did not have to pay for the defender, and after this season R. Ferdinand will most likely retire.
"I had many offers from clubs all over the world," said the former England national team player. "I had the opportunity to move to a warm place, but I wanted to play in the Premier League, where my career began."
"I chose QPR not for the money, as I had more lucrative offers. I still believe I can play at the highest level and I want to help this club establish itself in England," Ferdinand concluded.
Earlier in his career, the experienced footballer had worn the jerseys of teams such as "West Ham," "Bournemouth," and "Leeds United."
Throughout his career, R. Ferdinand played a total of 696 matches and scored 13 goals.
