In Tuesday's German championship match, Bayern Munich's French player Franck Ribery possibly suffered a serious injury.
The experienced footballer, in the 65th minute after a shot on goal, unsuccessfully planted his foot and had to leave the field only with the help of medics.
One of the club's executives, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, said: "The initial prognosis is not good. It could be that something is broken, or at least the tendons are severely damaged."
Bayern won the match against Hoffenheim 2-1.
Ribery is experiencing an injury.
