Juan Roman Riquelme leaves the "Boca Juniors" club in Buenos Aires.
The 34-year-old footballer, who has represented Spanish clubs such as "Barcelona" and "Villarreal" for a long time, announced his decision after the lost "Copa Libertadores" final match against the "Corinthians" team.
"I feel empty and unable to give anything more to this team," said the Argentine. "I don't want to play with one foot. I love this club, I will always be grateful to it. If they need me, I will always be there, but for now I need to go home."
However, Riquelme claims that he is still considering whether to end his career. He spent a total of 12 years with the "Boca Juniors" team.
