Former stars of "Barcelona" and "Deportivo" Brazilian Rivaldo's agent informed the mid-table team of the Spanish championship Sevilla that his client did not sign any contract with the Qatar Football Federation, as claimed earlier.
Last month, "Betis" made an offer to Rivaldo, which was only a third of the amount offered to the Brazilian by "Bolton." Now, the agent of "Betis" has stated that they could reach an agreement with Rivaldo if they increased their proposed salary.
According to the media, Rivaldo told his agent that he would agree to play for a lower salary at "Betis," but not as low as the Spanish club had offered so far.
The Spanish sports newspaper "Marca" reports that "Bolton" offered Rivaldo a one-year contract worth 4 million euros - three paid by the club, and one by the sports footwear and clothing manufacturer "Reebok," which is the main sponsor of the English club.
Although "Betis" offers Rivaldo slightly more than a million euros per year, they are not in the last place in the fight for this football star. They have something that neither "Bolton" nor Qatar have - the player's desire to play in Spain. Rivaldo has previously stated that he wants to prove to everyone that he can still play at the highest level and maybe represent Brazil in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
