Rivaldo: players crying during the Brazilian anthem show their weakness

The legend of the Brazilian national team Rivaldo is convinced that in order to win the World Cup, Brazilians should handle their emotions and stop crying during the national anthem.

In 2014, when Brazil was humiliated 1:7 by the German team in the World Cup semi-finals, most criticized the excessive emotion during the anthem, when players like Thiago Silva, Neymar, or Julio Cesar were seen with tears. Rivaldo believes that this shows their weakness and they should avoid such emotions.

"They have to stay calm and play with pleasure, but no crying during the national anthem. Feel the emotion, let it ignite a fire inside you, but no tears. It's a demonstration of weakness and it really doesn't help. You have to feel the passion in your heart and play with fire in your eyes," - Rivaldo spoke about emotions in the World Cup.

The World Cup will start for Brazilians today at 21:00 in the match against Switzerland.
