Belgian national team strategist Roberto Martinez was pleased that the radical changes in team leader Eden Hazard's career did not negatively affect the national team's game.
Yesterday Belgians beat Kazakhstan at home 3-0, and the 28-year-old forward not only played his 100th game for the team but was also honored.
"There was a great atmosphere in the stadium. I was a little worried about the distractions surrounding E. Hazard that could have been unsettling, but it turns out it was unfounded," said R. Martinez.
"It's fantastic news for him. I hope Eden will continue to enjoy playing and delight the fans."
"Everything went well, of course, and we need to continue to focus in this group. The performance of the Kazakhs against Scotland was very powerful, but today they were not allowed to do what they planned."
