Rodri surprised by C. Ronaldo's comments on the Ballon d'Or voting

"Manchester City” and Spain's national team defensive midfielder Rodri won the "Ballon d'Or” award in 2024, which sparked a storm of discussions among both the football world and fans.

Most expected that the award would be clinched by Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior. This same position was recently expressed by Cristiano Ronaldo, who stated that it was indeed the Brazilian who deserved such recognition.

Rodri himself reacted to the Portuguese's words, stating that C. Ronaldo should not question his victory in the voting.

"I was surprised by Ronaldo's comments. He should know better than anyone how such awards work.

The journalists simply decided that I was worthy of this award. It is likely that those same journalists voted for Ronaldo at some point, and in those instances, I would guess he had no questions about it,” Rodri said in an interview with AS.
