Rodri: "We are very close to a players' strike" © zumapress.com

The players of the major European football clubs will face an even tighter match schedule this season.

Footballers are not only facing a longer UEFA Champions League season but also the new format of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Such decisions are causing increasing dissatisfaction among players, and one of the leaders of Manchester City, Rodri, even mentioned a possible players' strike.

"I think we are very close to a players' strike. I feel that the majority of footballers have a similar stance. This is not just my position.

If we continue to play at this pace, we will eventually reach a point where we have no other option. The players are the ones suffering from such a schedule," Rodri stated.
