"Roma" decided not to redeem W. Szczesny's contract

"Roma" club, currently having goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny on loan, decided not to buy out the Polish player's contract permanently, according to the English newspaper "Daily Mail".

This means that the 25-year-old footballer will return to London's "Arsenal" in the summer.

Despite Szczesny losing his place in the "Gunners" starting lineup last season, and with them acquiring Petr Cech, the player still mentioned wanting to return to England and fight for playing time there.

This season, the Polish national team member played 20 matches in the "Serie A" championship. During these matches, he conceded 19 goals and kept a "clean sheet" five times.

Interestingly, in the UEFA Champions League, Szczesny had to retrieve the ball from his net 16 times in just six matches.
