According to the press, the „Roma“ team should strengthen their defense with Martin Caceres, who is currently a free agent after his contract with his current team expires this summer.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that „Roma“ is actively offering a contract to the defender, and the team's sports director Walter Sabatini has already presented a three-year offer, which Caceres is inclined to accept. The 29-year-old defender moved to Turin in the summer of 2012 from the „Sevilla“ team for a sum of 8 million euros, and his current contract will expire on July 1, so the footballer can already negotiate with any club that could acquire him without any transfer fee.
This season, Caceres has been plagued by injuries and has only played nine matches. Currently, the Uruguayan is recovering from a serious injury he suffered in February – a ruptured Achilles tendon.
