Ronaldo to "Flamengo"? © EuroFootball.com

In the previous season, vice-president of "Flamengo" club from Rio de Janeiro, Kleber Leite, confirmed to journalists over the phone that he had spoken with Madrid and Brazilian national team striker Ronaldo about a possible return to play in his homeland.

Brazil national team coach Carlos Alberto Parreira was very pleased with this news: "It would be beneficial for everyone: Ronaldo, 'Flamengo', and the national team. If he wants to return to his homeland, financial matters can certainly be resolved. Everyone would benefit from this transfer."

It is almost certain that Ronaldo will leave the Royal Club after the season, as the new president Fernando Martin promised to revolutionize and move away from the "Galactico" policy promoted by former president Florentino Perez.

The 29-year-old Brazilian, who needs to score three goals in this year's World Cup in Germany to become the tournament's all-time leading scorer, recently publicly criticized "Real" fans for not liking him since his arrival from Inter Milan.

"It would be a great opportunity for fans to see Ronaldo in a Brazilian club jersey," added C.A. Parreira. "Not everyone could see him when he was still a young player at 'Cruzeiro'."
