The club borrowed forward Roque Santa Cruz until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old Paraguayan joined the Manchester team in July 2009 for a fee of 20 million euros, coming from Blackburn, but failed to establish himself in the main lineup.
"I feel like I'm coming home," the footballer rejoiced. "It was the easiest decision in my career."
This season in the English championship, Santa Cruz played only one game - he spent less than half an hour on the field in a match against Birmingham.
