This Wednesday, the remaining six matchdays were played in the Russian "Premier" League. The chance to rise to first place after the leader "CSKA" failed on Monday was not taken advantage of by "Rubin", who played a draw, as did the newcomers Nalchik's "Spartak" and "Luch-Energia", and Moscow's "Spartak" won their fourth victory in five games, moving up to fourth place. In distant Vladivostok, the locals "Luch-Energia" and Ramenskoye's "Saturn" footballers took the field. The "Saturn" team arrived in Vladivostok without two main defenders and a goalkeeper. "Luch" immediately started testing the experimental "Saturn" defense and in the 17th minute of the match scored their goal - Ruslan Adzhindzhal scored, and five minutes later the hosts' striker Maksim Astafyev doubled the result. After these goals, the game moved to the middle of the field and until the end of the half, no chances were created to score. The second half started with active efforts from "Saturn" to change the result, but it remained just efforts. Meanwhile, the Far Eastern representatives could score a couple more goals, but the result remained unchanged until the end of the match - the hosts "Luch-Energia" footballers won 2-0. In Samara, "Krylja Sovetov" and Perm's "Amkar" met. Normally not easily defeated, this time "Amkar" was simply crushed with a score of 6-1, with Samara club striker Marco Topich scoring a hat-trick. In Moscow, "Moskva" faced St. Petersburg's "Zenit" with the famous coach Dick Advocaat at the helm. The match passed without very dangerous moments and ended in a goalless draw. This meant that "Zenit" with the new coach still couldn't score any goals. Also in Moscow, there was a match between "Spartak" and Yaroslavl's "Shinnik" clubs. Due to the same heat affecting Lithuania, half of the first half saw both teams' players moving without much effort, as if conserving energy. The first goal into the "Shinnik" goal was unexpectedly scored by "Spartak" defender Mozarts after a corner and the unmarked "red-and-white" captain Egor Titov scored a goal. "Shinnik" tried long shots on goal or passes into the middle of the penalty area, but this didn't disturb the "Spartak" players, who scored a second goal after J.Titov's pass - Roman Pavlyuchenko doubled the result. "Shinnik" goalkeeper made several saves to prevent more goals in the remaining time of the first half. In the beginning of the second half, "Shinnik" dominated the middle of the field, but the "Spartak" players continued to attack the goal. However, the visitors did not give up, and after a well-executed corner, former "Spartak" player Alexander Shirko scored. "Shinnik" couldn't do more, and in the 81st minute, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie took a shot from 18 meters and, with a glaring error by the goalkeeper who let the ball pass through his legs, the Dutch legionary scored the third goal for his team and secured the victory. In Kazan, the locals "Rubin" faced the visitors from the capital, "Torpedo". The Muscovites unexpectedly took the lead in the fifth minute with a goal from Gregorz Pekchna, but Dmitri Vasilev leveled the score in the 12th minute. The match ended in a 1-1 draw - the first lost points for "Rubin" at their home ground. In Nalchik, the season's surprises met - the local "Spartak" and Tomsk's "Tom". The first half of the match was not exciting with dangerous moments and ended without goals. At the start of the second half, "Tom" had a real chance to score, but they didn't take it, and shortly after Vitaliy Lanko scored a goal that was celebrated by the hosts. The match ended with a 1-0 victory for Nalchik's "Spartak" team, who now trail the championship leader "CSKA" by just one point.
