Round 17: "CSKA" remains the leader of the championship © EuroFootball.com

This weekend in Russia, the 17th round matches of the "Premier" league were played. One of the most interesting duels took place between the "Spartak" clubs from Moscow and Nalchik. The Moscow club chose a 3-5-2 tactical scheme and immediately started threatening the visitors' goal.

In the first half, the Moscow players had several dangerous moments but failed to capitalize on them, while the Nalchik team managed to organize a couple of slightly more dangerous attacks.

At the beginning of the second half, a penalty kick was awarded to the visitors, but Fernando Cavenaghi failed to convert it, keeping the scoreboard at zero.

Although the hosts dominated the field, they couldn't score goals, but with seven minutes left in the match, the visitors had a chance to score a goal and perhaps snatch the victory. Moscow then launched a final attack but almost conceded a goal to their own net.

It seemed like the outcome of the match was already clear, but fortune smiled on Moscow's "Spartak," and in extra time, D. Bojarincevas scored a great goal. With a score of 1-0, Moscow's "Spartak" snatched the victory and thus rose to second place, overtaking "Lokomotiv".

In another Moscow match, the local "Moscow" team faced off against "Rostov". The first half was quite dull, as the battle took place in the center of the field and neither team could organize successful attacks.

The first dangerous moment came around the 27th minute when a penalty kick was awarded to the visitors. Four minutes later, "Moscow" managed to score the first goal of the match.

The second half started with substitutions in the visitors' team, but it didn't help as "Moscow" doubled the lead a few minutes later. However, that was not enough for the hosts, and in the 54th minute, Sergey Semak tripled the score.

The guests' humiliation ended in the 76th minute when Roman Adamov converted an 11-meter penalty. With a score of 4-0, "Moscow" celebrated a resounding victory against "Rostov".

In Yaroslavl, the local "Shinnik" faced the national champions "CSKA". In the first half, "CSKA" dominated, constantly threatening the hosts' goal, while "Shinnik" occasionally launched counterattacks.

In the second half, the dynamics remained the same, and neither team managed to score a goal. In extra time, "CSKA" was saved from an unexpected loss by forward Ivica Olic. With a narrow 1-0 score, "CSKA" won and remained the leader of the championship.

In Moscow, the local "Dynamo" met "Tom" from Tomsk. The fact that two "Dynamo" goalkeepers were on the list of players for sale brought more interesting news for fans from Lithuania. This allowed Lithuania's national team goalkeeper Ž. Karčemarskas to gain playing practice, and until the end of the season, R. Poškus was loaned to "Zenit".

The first goal in the 30th minute came after a penalty kick into the hosts' goal. During the additional time of the first half, "Tom" could have doubled the lead but Dynamo's goalkeeper played remarkably well.

At the start of the second half, the hosts had the opportunity to equalize, but the shot went straight to the goalkeeper. The match was marked by rough play, and the referee constantly handed out yellow cards, removing a "Tom" player in the 62nd minute.

"Dynamo" started pressing the opponent, and in the 82nd minute, they equalized the score. Four minutes later, the second goal was scored. With a 2-1 score, "Dynamo" won and rose to the 13th place in the league table.

On Saturday, both matches took place in Moscow, where "Torpedo" - "Saturn" and "Lokomotiv" - "Luch" fought.

The first match was between "Torpedo" and "Saturn". "Torpedo," as the hosts, immediately took the center of the field and tried to attack, while "Saturn" relied on counterattacking tactics. The first goal was scored by "Saturn" players after a substitution, with I. Lebedenko appearing on the field, who was assisted by E. Česnauskis.

In the second half, "Torpedo" continued with the same gameplay, but more dangerous moments were created near the hosts' goal. In the 67th minute, E. Česnauskis, who was playing successfully that day, scored a great goal.

"Torpedo" made substitutions and tried harder to score, but once again "Saturn" managed to do it. With a 0-3 victory, the guests from Podolsk celebrated.

In another Moscow match, the local "Lokomotiv" faced Vladivostok's "Luch". Just after the first ten minutes of the match, "Lokomotiv" scored two goals, and the winner of this match became clear, as the visitors managed to score only two points throughout the away game.

To seal their victory, "Lokomotiv" scored another goal at the end of the match and won against the guests from the Far East with a score of 3-0.
