Round 17: "Stuttgart" rising up © EuroFootball.com

On Saturday, the last round of the first round of the German Bundesliga began. In seven matches, 24 goals were scored, the hosts won four victories, two matches ended in a draw, and the visitors triumphed in one match. On Sunday, there will be two more matches that will conclude the seventeenth round and the first part of the season.

"Bayern" players continued their successful journey towards the title, defeating "Borussia" club with a traditional away score of 2-1. With this result, the Munich club secured their fourth consecutive victory in the Bundesliga. A.Karimi and C.Pizarro stood out in the winning team in Saturday's match, while F.Kringe scored a consolation goal for the hosts. After the fourteenth season victory, "Bayern" increased their lead over "Hamburger" to seven points, but the latter club still has a match this Sunday.

It seems that the fourth-place winners of the previous Bundesliga championship, the "Stuttgart" players, are finally starting to recover. The club, which started poorly this season, is gaining momentum and gradually climbing to the top of the league table - in this round, "Stuttgart" won 2-0 at home against one of the tournament leaders, the "Schalke" club. Both goals were scored in the second half - in the 48th minute, M.Gomez put the hosts ahead, and D.Ljuboja later doubled the lead. This victory allowed the "Stuttgart" club to rise to fifth position and continue their unbeaten streak - "Stuttgart" players have been unbeaten in eleven consecutive matches, with their last defeat in the Bundesliga dating back to the beginning of September.

On the other hand, the "Koln" players continue their disastrous streak. This time, the league newcomers lost 3-2 to the "Arminia" club after a fierce battle. The match started well for the "Koln" players - they took the lead after just the first minute with a goal from C.Springer. However, in the second half, things got very complicated for the visitors, as "Arminia" scored three times within seven minutes and gained a solid advantage. At the end of the match, M.Scherz managed to reduce the deficit, but "Koln" could not achieve more in this match. With their ninth consecutive defeat in the last twelve matches, "Koln" is in sixteenth place, just ahead of the bottom teams "Duisburg" and "Kaiserslautern" due to a slightly better goal difference.

For the latter teams, this round was successful - "Duisburg" drew 1-1 with "Mainz" and secured an important point, while "Kaiserslautern" performed even better - they defeated "Wolfsburg" 3-2 at home after almost four months without a win. All three goals for the winners were scored by H.Altintop, who has already scored thirteen goals in this round and is in second place in the list of top scorers.
