R.Sterling: I don't want to be called a money-grubbing 20-year-old

Recently, 20-year-old "Liverpool" defender Raheem Sterling once again rejected the club's offer of a new contract.

It is said that the promising player was not convinced even by the contract with a six-figure sum laid on the table.

However, Sterling himself claims that money is not the most important thing to him.

"I don't want to be known as a money-hungry 20-year-old. Fans should see me as a kid who loves playing football," the footballer said.

Confirming that he turned down the offered £100,000 weekly salary, Sterling added: "When I started playing for QPR (youth team), I could never even dream of seeing similar numbers in front of my eyes. I am very grateful. But now I want to focus solely on football and at the end of the season, win something. The FA Cup is a great opportunity."

This season, R. Sterling has scored 6 goals in 26 "Premier" league matches.
