Former Portugal national team defender Rui Costa is negotiating with [club name] regarding the possibility of terminating his contract. This was confirmed by the Portuguese player himself to journalists on Tuesday.

Rui Costa, who ended his international career after the 2004 European Championship, joined AC Milan in 2001 from Fiorentina.

The Portuguese media reports that the 34-year-old defender would like to return to Lisbon, where he began his football career at the age of nine.

"I am glad there is a possibility to return," said the Portuguese player. "However, at the moment it is only a possibility. But until it happens, it would be foolish to give up. After all, I have been striving for this for 12 years."
