On Monday, the Moscow "Lokomotiv" club announced that their 22-year-old defender, Innokentiy Samokhvalov, unexpectedly passed away, as reported by lrytas.lt. The football player was loaned to the daughter team of "Lokomotiv", the Moscow "Kazanka", and managed to play 16 matches with them. According to the player's wife, he decided to do some exercise and go for a run in the morning. However, while running, he suddenly fell to the ground and didn't move. His wife saw this through the apartment building window and called for emergency assistance. She then rushed down and asked passersby for help to transport her husband to a nearby hospital - a women's consultation clinic. Upon arrival, medics tried to revive I. Samokhvalov, but ultimately declared his death. Initial reports suggest that his heart couldn't withstand the shock. However, the cause of a healthy man's sudden death will be determined by a pathologist. "Kesha (Innokentiy) came to our academy in the third grade, managed to win the Russian youth championship as part of the academy team. He was a good and young man, a great friend. The "Lokomotiv" team is shocked by this tragedy. It is a terrible misfortune in our common family. We express our condolences to Innokentiy's family and loved ones," - stated the announcement from the Moscow "Lokomotiv" team.
