"Russian national team accused of using doping in the 2014 World Cup"

The British media "Mail on Sunday" has spread a message accusing the Russian national football team of allegedly using doping during the 2014 World Cup, wrote lrytas.lt.

23 football players who went to Brazil are accused of doping violations and are among 34 Russian athletes who will be investigated. All these athletes are included in the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) list.

Even if this is true, it did not help the Russians, as they did not even advance past the group stage in the World Cup.

Interestingly, in the ongoing Confederations Cup tournament in Russia, the host team has only five players who also played in Brazil. However, even home advantage did not help the Russians, as they finished their performance in the tournament after the group stage, losing to Mexican footballers.
