Russian savings trying to involve prisoners in the construction of stadiums

The Russian government has come up with a way to speed up and reduce the cost of construction for the 2018 World Cup. The Russian prison department supports Aleksandr Chinshtein's proposal.

A member of the United Russia party suggests allowing prisoners to be taken from camps to work in factories. According to him, this would help reduce the cost of construction materials for World Cup facilities.

"This will help because it will be possible to purchase building materials at a lower price than on the market. In addition, prisoners will be able to work, which is a good thing," said Chinshtein.

Chinshtein stated that the initiative to employ prisoners is in line with the government's policy of replacing imported goods. The Russians are trying to fill the gaps caused by expensive imported goods with their own production.
