„Manchester City“ club legend Sergio Aguero announced on his social media profile that this season is his last within the ranks of the „Citizens“. According to „Sky Sports“, on Monday „City“ coach Pep Guardiola met with the 32-year-old Argentine and informed him that the club will not extend his contract ending this summer. „Man City“ director Khaldoon Al Mubarak also revealed that there are plans to unveil a statue of S. Aguero next to the „Etihad“ stadium. The forward has been playing in Manchester since 2011 and during this time he managed to win four „Premier League“ titles, lifted the English league cup five times and once triumphed in the FA cup. S. Aguero is also the all-time top scorer for the „Citizens“, having scored a remarkable 257 goals. As reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, several clubs have immediately shown interest in S. Aguero's services, with one of them being „Barcelona“. However, as the same source claims, the Argentine will not rush to make a decision about his future.
